Adventure Tourer: Watch Out For Top 5 India-bound Stunning Adventure Bikes in 2017

Upcoming Adventure Tourer Bikes in India:

The year 2016 saw a phenomenal growth & popularity of the Adventure Tourer segment in India. Riders in India are now aspiring for this class of vehicles as they provide the utility of travelling distances.

It seems this trend will continue in 2017 as we have compiled a list of some of the stunning Adventure Tourer bikes which are about to hit India’s roads in 2017.




  1. Adventure Tourer: KTM 390 Adventure

The KTM 390 Adventure borrows the same 373.2cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke liquid cooled engine from its sibling; the Duke 390. Powering the KTM 390 Adventure it can churn out 43.5PS of peak power and peak torque of 37 Nm. The bike has a six-speed transmission. The bike will also comply with BS-IV standards.

Also expect the bike to get long travel suspension setup, front & rear disc brakes with ABS. The bike is also likely to get ride-by-wire. The bike is likely to have rugged looks with front fairing inspired by the 1190 Adventure. On the Tech front, the bike will have features such as LED DRL, LED headlight, LED taillight, Colour TFT instrument panel and KTM MY RIDE for smartphone tethering. The bike will command a price-tag of around Rs. 2.2 to 2.4 Lakh.




  1. Adventure Tourer: BMW G 310 GS

The G 310 GS borrows the same single-cylinder, 313cc, fuel injected engine that powers the BMW G 310 R which is jointly developed by TVS and BMW. The engine delivers 34bhp at 9500rpm and 28Nm of torque at 10,500rpm with a top speed of around 140km/h.

The G 310 GS gets adventure tourer styling. However, it is more suitable for daily commuting and occasional long distance ride than hard core off-road riding. This is because of its smaller fuel tank of 11 litres. The bike has long travel suspension with 41mm USD forks at the front and a 180mm mono-shock at the rear. It also gets a large 19-inch alloy wheel at the front to tackle the rough terrain. The estimated price of the G 310 GS is Rs. 3 Lakh to Rs. 3.2 Lakh.

  1. Adventure Tourer: DSK Benelli TRK 502

The all new twin-cylinder, four- stroke, liquid-cooled, 500cc engine powers the Benelli TRK 502. It comes with electronic injection, double overhead camshaft timing system and 4 valves per cylinder. The engine delivers maximum power output of 35 kW at 8500 rpm and the torque of 45 Nm at 4500 rpm.

The bike carries the traditional Benelli steel trellis frame and an adjustable upside down fork at front. The rear suspension includes a swing-arm with mono-shock which provides suspension travel of 150mm. In addition, the Benelli TRK 502 comes with a wheelbase of 1525 mm along with a ground clearance of 190mm. The expected price of Benelli TRK 502 is around Rs. 4 Lakh.

  1. Adventure Tourer: Ducati Multistrada 950

The upcoming new Ducati Multistrada 950 is the smaller sibling of the Multistrada 1290 which Ducati launched recently. The bike has a twin cylinder, 937cc, Testastretta, liquid cooled engine which powers the Multistrada 950. It churns out a maximum of power of 113 hp and maximum torque of 96.2 NM. The bike has a six-speed gearbox.

Additionally, Multistrada 950 has an instrument panel which contains a large LCD. It provides the rider with primary and secondary information. For safety, the bike gets four Riding Modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro), DSP (Ducati Safety Pack) with ABS and Ducati Traction Control. Furthermore, The Multistrada 950 also gets an LED tail light and a hazard warning lights function. The bike is expected to be priced between Rs. 11.5 to 13 Lakh.

  1. Adventure Tourer: Honda Africa Twin

A liquid-cooled, 998 cc, parallel-twin engine powers this adventure tourer. The engine puts out 87 bhp of power and 92 Nm of torque. The bike’s engine sits on a lightweight chassis which is designed specifically for both on and off-road use. However, in India, Honda will launch only the top-of-the-line DCT (automatic transmission) variant. The bike will be available only in one colour theme of New Victory Red.

Honda Africa Twin gets inverted, cartridge type, fully adjustable front forks with 230 mm stroke which is longest in its class. The bike also has a class-leading ground clearance of 250 mm. The bike has a price tag of Rs. 12.9 Lakh.
