Active Trace Control Advantages :

First of all, Nissan developed Active Trace Control as driver assistance system. This system aids driving on acute or sharp curves and ensures that vehicle traverses its path perfectly. This system is an extension of Electronic Stability Program (ESP). Nissan is constantly building new technologies like active ride control which are supplementary to active trace control and improves overall ride quality.

Working Principle:

Traversing a sharp curve is always a skillful act and not everyone is comfortable with it. Hence, some drivers find it difficult because such a situation demands while keeping a close watch over acceleration, braking, and steering of the vehicle simultaneously. Therefore a little assistance in such a situation helps driver feel confident in handling the vehicle. This is where Active-Trace Control comes into action.

Furthermore, Active Trace Control keeps close watch over the steering inputs given by the driver and the actual path being followed by the vehicle. The system automatically takes corrective actions by applying brakes when there is a mismatch between the two parameters. So this system is capable of coming into action at any point of time i.e. while entering into the curve or midway or at the time of exit from the curve. It depends purely on the situational demand.

In conclusion, cautious driving has no substitute yet the system takes care of the most critical situations.
